Hum when I touch the RCA — ground loop?

Faint hum that gets louder when I touch the RCA connector shell. Single amp, single source, both on the same outlet.

Ground loop, or is my chassis ground floating?

Classic floating ground. Check that your chassis is actually bonded to mains earth.

Touching it makes it louder = you are the antenna and the shield is not grounded. Fix the chassis ground.
