The Listener Save your build, then submit it for review. A moderator publishes the submitted version or returns it for changes. When you update a published build, the existing public version stays live until the changes are approved.
Before you start
Sign in and open your build from your builds. Save the content you want reviewed. Add a hero image before submitting. A new, unsaved build cannot be submitted, and unsaved changes keep the submission button disabled.
Check both the Showcase and any Build Guide. The submission includes the saved build content together. It is not a separate publication request for each editor.
The publication workflow uses four terms:
- Draft: the build has not been published and is not awaiting a review decision.
- In Review: a submitted version is waiting for moderation.
- Published: an approved version is public. New edits can still be private.
- Needs Changes: the submission was returned. Read the feedback and revise before submitting again.
The editor also combines publication and change information. A live build can show Published · Unpublished changes, Published · Changes in review or Published · Changes requested. Read the whole status to distinguish the public version from your current work.
Steps
Finish your current edits and choose Save. Wait for the save to complete. If it fails, resolve the displayed error before continuing.
Open Publishing to check the public revision, saved changes and any Reviewer feedback. For an update, inspect the differences from the published version.
Choose Submit for review and confirm the submission. Bassilisk records the saved version for review. The editor becomes read-only while that submission is pending.
Wait for a decision. If the submission needs changes, read the feedback on Publishing, edit the relevant content and save it. Submit the revised build through the same review action.
If you need to edit while a submission is pending, open Publishing and choose Withdraw submission. Confirm the withdrawal, make your changes, save and submit again when ready.
What happens next
The moderator opens the submitted version from the review queue. The review view contains the submitted content and files. For an update, it compares that version with the earlier published version, including additions, removals, edits, reordered content and replaced files.
This includes the Showcase and guide material: descriptions, images, specifications, parts, steps, measurements, resources and licensing. Check the entire saved build before submitting, even if your latest edit changed only one section.
Approval makes that submitted version public. A returned submission can be revised and submitted again. Withdrawal ends the pending review and lets you continue editing. It does not remove an existing published version.
After publication, save edits as usual. They remain unpublished until you submit them and a moderator approves them. The previous approved version stays public during editing, review, withdrawal or a request for changes. When there are no unpublished changes, there is nothing new to submit.
Common mistakes
- Stopping after Save and expecting the public page to update.
- Trying to edit a pending submission without withdrawing it first.
- Assuming Needs Changes removes an earlier approved version.
- Changing the project's Prototype, In Progress or Finished status to try to publish it. Project status and publication are separate.
