A team gives a group of builders a shared public identity and member list. A moderator approves the team before it becomes public. Joining requires an application, and each account can have one active membership or pending application.

Why it matters

A team page tells other builders who belongs to your group and where to find them. It brings the team's name, logo, description and member profiles together. Membership has its own approval process, separate from the moderator's approval of the team itself.

Choose whether to create a team or apply to an existing one. A pending application already occupies your team place, so cancel it before applying elsewhere or creating another team.

How it works

Sign in and open Team in your dashboard. If you have no current membership or application, the page offers the creation form. Enter Team name and Slug. The slug forms the team's public address and must be unique. You can also add a logo, short description, website and country.

Choose Create team. You become its owner immediately, and the team enters In Review. It stays out of the public directory and author profiles until a moderator approves it. Other builders can apply after approval.

A moderator handles the submission in the Studio review queue. Approval makes the team public. If it is returned for changes, open Edit team, read any moderator note, correct the details and choose Save team to resubmit. The team stays private while awaiting its first approval.

There are three membership roles:

  • The owner holds ownership and can transfer it to another active member.
  • Team admins help manage the profile, members and join applications.
  • Members belong to the team without its management controls.

Owners and team admins can accept or reject applications, remove members other than the owner, and promote or demote active members. Team admin is a role within that team; team publication is reviewed by a Bassilisk moderator.

To join, browse Teams, open a published team's page and choose Apply to join. Sign in first if prompted. The application waits for an owner or team admin to accept it. Applying does not make you an active member immediately.

Your dashboard shows a pending Join application with a Cancel application control. Active members can use Leave team. You keep your builds and profile when you leave. An owner must select another active member to take ownership before leaving; the team must retain an owner.

What to check

The public page shows the approved name and logo, description, country or International label, website link when provided, active member count and application requirement. Its member list shows names, avatars and roles, with links to author profiles. Pending applicants do not appear in that public roster.

Keep the public profile factual and check the address before submitting. Names use 3–60 characters, slugs use 3–48 lowercase letters, numbers or hyphens, and the short description allows up to 280 characters.

After publication, changes to the name, slug or logo go through review. The public page keeps the approved identity until the change is accepted. Description, website and country changes save straight away. Check the review message in the profile editor to see which identity is live and which is waiting.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting a new team to appear publicly as soon as you create it.
  • Confusing a join application with active membership.
  • Applying to another team while you still have an active membership or pending application.
  • Trying to leave as the owner before another active member can take over.
